For many children, eating is a challenging task. Feeding problems affect an estimated 1 in 4 children who are developing typically and 8 in 10 children with special needs.
At Atrium Health Levine Children’s Feeding Center, we provide a multidisciplinary approach to evaluating infants and children with feeding difficulties. Our goals are to help identify what’s causing a child’s feeding challenges and to connect families to necessary resources for successful treatment.

Providing early, appropriate and skilled interventions is important to successfully treat infants and children with feeding difficulties. Our team offers care for patients with feeding problems from birth to 18 years of age.
Our dedicated team reflects the expertise of Levine Children’s Hospital, named a Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report. We’re the only children's hospital in our region to make the list and have ranked in multiple specialties for several years.
In addition to expert care, we believe family is the most important part of a child’s treatment, and their role is to provide support and guidance.
Feeding disorders have many potential causes. These may include issues with oral motor skills (moving muscles in the mouth, jaw, tongue, lips and cheeks), difficulty swallowing, sensory processing disorders, digestive system disorders, allergies, behavioral challenges and other factors.
