Breast Cancer Support Group
This support group is for individuals newly diagnosed with breast cancer and their families. This group meets from 10 to 11 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
Breast Cancer Support Group – Albemarle
This support group is for women diagnosed with breast cancer. Women of all ages and all phases of survivorship are welcome. This group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in the NorthEast Oncology Associates-Albemarle lobby. For more information, please call 704-403-7790.
Purple Purpose
Purple Purpose is a general cancer support program open to all newly diagnosed cancer survivors with any type of cancer within their first two years of treatment, or for patients on continuous treatment. This program will meet on the second Thursday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m.
Caregivers Connection
This is an informal opportunity for caregivers to connect with other caregivers, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, or to take a few moments to relax in our Rejuvenation Center. Please feel free to join us on the second Monday of each month from 10 to 11 a.m.
When Someone You Love Has Cancer – For Children & Teens
This program is for children and teens who have a parent or loved one diagnosed with cancer. Our goal is to educate children about cancer, develop coping skills and learn healthy ways of expressing their feelings. We also offer an eight-hour day camp. Chemo 101
This class is designed to educate patients about cancer and chemotherapy. Topics covered include an overview of cancer, chemotherapy administration, managing side effects, coping and resources. All participants go on a tour of the Cancer Center area and meet staff members of the support team. This class is offered every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Young Survivor Network
This support group provides a listing of information regarding social networking and peer support for young adults diagnosed with cancer. To find out more about the network, please call 704-403-1370.
Look Good…Feel Better
This class is a free, two-hour educational hands-on workshop for female patients undergoing radiation and/or chemotherapy. A licensed cosmetologist will address techniques for how to deal with physical changes related to cancer treatment. All participants receive a complimentary cosmetic kit. This class meets in Rejuvenation Center.

Prepping for Pre-Op
This class is for individuals preparing to undergo surgery for breast cancer. Class will include what to expect, surgical and reconstructive options and how to prepare. This class meets every Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m.
