Fatemeh P. Parvin-Nejad, MD

Visiting the doctor, especially with a cancer diagnosis, can be frightening, but it doesn’t have to be. I’m deeply motivated to teach each of my patients about their diseases and share options for treatments that work best in the context of their unique life goals. I strive to serve as a trusted confidante who makes sure my patients are armed with the knowledge and choices to overcome their diseases and live happy, fulfilled lives.

I am board-certified in general surgery and fellowship-trained in breast surgical oncology. I treat breast cancer and other diseases of the breast.

Since medical school, I have been fascinated by the personalized nature of treating breast cancer. It is a nuanced disease that brings together physicians from many specialties to serve each patient with an individualized treatment plan. It is a special privilege to be part of my patients’ journeys and to help make the fear of cancer a thing of the past.

I received my bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in molecular genetics at Dartmouth College and my medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I completed residency in general surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, followed by a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Outside of work, I enjoy learning about world languages and cultures, exploring the arts, perfecting my next loaf of sourdough bread and spending time outdoors, whether in the garden, the park or the mountains.
