Biography
“I have a special interest in refractory headaches and facial pain cases. I strive to care for patients with these issues.”
Dr. Tariq is board certified in neurology and headache medicine. He specializes in migraines, cluster headaches, trigeminal neuralgia, chronic post-traumatic headaches, cervicogenic headaches and orofacial pain.
In addition, Dr. Tariq specializes in dizziness, headaches during pregnancy, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, spontaneous intracranial hypotension (CSF leak headaches), nerve blocks and botulinum toxin procedures for headaches and facial pain.
He currently serves as the director of the Headache and Facial Pain program at Atrium Health and formerly served as the director of the Headache Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Tariq is currently involved in research focusing on trans-nasal dehumidified air therapy for migraine.
Dr. Tariq received his medical degree at the National University of Sciences and Technology. He completed a residency at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
Outside of work, he enjoys reading and traveling.
