Biography
“I chose neurology because I enjoy putting the puzzle together and determining which part of a patient’s nervous system is not functioning as expected. I have always been drawn to emergency care and it is extremely rewarding to help patients when a sudden change in their health has occurred.”
Dr. Karamchandani is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology. He specializes in stroke treatment for hospitalized patients.
Dr. Karamchandani is the stroke medical director at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, and the co-medical director of the cerebrovascular division of the Atrium Health Neurosciences Institute. He has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte Magazine.
It is his goal to work as part of a cohesive team to improve the health of patients who have neurological illnesses.
He received his medical degree at Wayne State University, completed a residency at the University of Michigan and a fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Karamchandani is a frequent lecturer, and he participates in ongoing vascular research. His most recent projects focus on optimizing the prediction of patient outcomes after an acute stroke.
He is married and has a daughter. In his free time, he stays active by exercising and playing sports.
