Biography

Childbirth is a miracle, and it is a privilege to be involved. Working with women to keep them healthy and to help them make their lives better is both rewarding and demanding.

I’m board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). I specialize in preventive care, contraception, menopause, prenatal care, labor and delivery, and the treatment of menstrual disorders and polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), formerly polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

I received my medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed a residency at the Naval Medical Center.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two grown sons. I’m a published writer, having written several plays and a short story that received an honorable mention in the Cotton Alley Writers' Review. I’m active in legislative advocacy for reproductive rights, healthcare access and the empowerment of women. I also enjoy yoga, playing with my dog, stand-up paddleboarding and almost any activity on water.
