Simbionix Lap Mentor™ III, virtual reality laparoscopic surgery trainer, provides a wide array of hands-on laparoscopic training for multiple specialties. The diverse curriculum offered allows learners to practice basic laparoscopic tasks and skills as well as complete procedure training on varying complexities of procedures. The Lap Mentor offers the use of haptics or without if that is learner preference. Haptics adds a tactile element that elevates the simulation experience by simulating tissue interaction. This tissue interaction allows for complex anatomy simulation, different tissue types, and dissection planes as well as realistic interaction between the tissue and surgical tool. A wide variety of surgical instruments are available, and the virtual trocar configuration offers flexibility and the opportunity to explore different approaches to procedures.
