Using real-time dynamic imaging and a custom-designed mannequin, the echocardiography simulator manufactured by CAE Healthcare, provides healthcare professionals with an unparalleled training environment for the thoracic cavity and basic to complex cardiac pathologies.

Learners can perform a realistic echo assessment of cardiac structures, practice hand-eye coordination and probe handling, and improve pathology recognition skills. The 3D animated heart can be independently cut and rotated, and the anatomical display of the ribs and lungs can be toggled on/off. Images can be adjusted with EKG tracing that may be turned on/off, gain and contrast settings, depth of field, as well as caliper and area measurements. The ultrasound images also display rib acoustic shadowing, lung artifacts, reverberations and other realistic imaging features.
