Frequently Asked Questions

Applications will be reviewed late September, early October for the Spring class, and late March, early April for the Fall class, following the application deadline. We do not review applications prior to the deadline.
As NPs and PAs in North Carolina, we still work in healthcare teams to provide patient care. Thus, we value the evaluation from an alternative discipline to demonstrate how you function in healthcare teams. At this time, a Physician recommendation remains part of the application requirements.
We understand this is a challenge, however we believe feedback and communication about a candidate's strengths and opportunities for growth remain a transparent process. While in the Fellowship, monthly and quarterly evaluations will be confidentially reviewed by the Fellow, Clinical Faculty, and Fellowship Directors. Should your desired author decline to share the document, we suggest you find another professional who can honestly speak to your character strengths. Letters of recommendation that are personally mailed or emailed to the program will not be considered.
The applicant would need to re-apply for the current cohort but may use old documents. However, if not selected, consider a critical appraisal of how to improve the application.
