52-Week Comprehensive Training Experience

Our PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency provides intensive clinical training through a carefully structured curriculum that balances required rotations, elective opportunities and longitudinal experiences designed to develop expertise in critical care pharmacy practice.

Unique Training Opportunities

Staffing and Schedule

  • Weekend staffing: The resident will staff every third weekend consisting of two 8-hour shifts. Shifts will occur in CMC intensive care units or in CMC main pharmacy. Residents will staff approximately 34 weekend shifts
  • Weekday staffing: The resident will staff 5 hours every other week, one day per week, in an evening ICU role or order verification shift, approximately from 3:30-8:30pm. Residents will staff approximately 27 weekday 5-hr shifts
  • Holiday staffing: The resident will staff 1 major holiday (2 shifts) and 1 minor holiday (1 shift)
    • Major: Thanksgiving/Black Friday; Christmas Eve/Christmas; New Years Eve/New Years
    • Minor: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day

  • Paid Time Off (“PTO”) will be accrued at the rate of 7.69 hours every two weeks and must generally be used for vacation, sick time, and holidays in accordance with the Department of Pharmacy policy
  • Residents will be assigned to work one major holiday (Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day) and one minor holiday (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day)
  • Professional meetings that residents present poster abstracts or platform presentations (ASHP Midyear and choice of REPS or critical care conference) are classified as additional business days and do not count towards PTO
