He is a Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at Wake Forest School of Medicine. After graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with honors, he attended East Carolina University School of Medicine where he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed internal Medicine residency at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine followed by an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine where his research focus centered around clinical and epidemiological factors of tuberculosis infection in people living with HIV (PLWH) as well as linkage to care for PLWH. After completing fellowship, he stayed at Emory as a faculty member based at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where his clinical and research career continued to focus on TB and HIV issues. He was an Associate Professor of Medicine and was very active the training of ID fellows serving as the Associate Program Director, ID Fellowship. Global Health has always been a part of his career and worked along with his mentors Dr. Carlos DelRio and Dr. Henry Blumberg as a co-investigator with the Emory/Fogerty Internal Program and Emory Center for Global Health to improve public health capacity building and training in Tblisi, Republic of Georgia. |

Dr. Kristi Moore holds the position of Residency Program Director. Dr. Moore is also Clinical Associate Professor at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. She has a background in sports medicine after graduating from the Honors Program at East Tennessee State University with a double major in athletic training and biology. She went on to receive her medical degree Magna cum Laude from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Moore completed her internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Maryland and VA Medical Centers in Baltimore, Maryland, after which she was selected to serve as Chief Resident at Mercy Medical Center, a University of Maryland-affiliated hospital in Baltimore. She spent her year as Chief Resident heavily involved in education and advocacy for the residency program. Afterwards, she remained in Baltimore for several years as an attending academic hospitalist before travelling south to Charlotte, NC in 2012 to join the faculty at Carolinas Medical Center. She served as an Associate Program Director for over eight years prior to transitioning into the Program Director role. Dr. Moore is also Clinical Assistant Professor at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Dr. Moore's clinical interests include resident and medical student education, consultative medicine, mentoring, and transitions of care. When not in the hospital, she enjoys photography, hiking, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with her husband and four young children. |

Dr. Steve Cochran holds the position of Associate Residency Program Director. He grew up in California before attending the University of Notre Dame, graduating with honors in 1993. Dr. Cochran received his medical degree from Indiana University in 1997 before proceeding south to the Carolinas. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Wake Forest University, he remained to complete fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Cochran joined the faculty at Carolinas Medical Center in 2003 and has continued to serve in both the intensive care and inpatient general medicine environments since that time. Dr. Cochran has strong clinical interests in critical care and resident education. He is actively involved in teaching ICU procedures, use of ventilators and hemodynamic support. The residents have valued his role in their education enough to honor him with the ‘Outstanding Faculty Award for House Staff Teaching’ in 2011. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Cochran’s hobbies include any and all sports, family life with his wife and three young children and a sometimes pathologic obsession with Notre Dame athletics. |

Dr. Hannah Florian serves as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Originally from the Midwest and raised in the Charlotte area, she earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she was inducted into AOA. She completed her residency at Duke University before joining Carolinas Medical Center as chief resident. |

Dr. Jessica McCutcheon holds the position of Associate Program Director. She grew up in rural South Carolina and is a first-generation college student and the first person in her family to become a physician. She obtained her medical degree Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia and completed her residency training at Vanderbilt University Hospital. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. During her time as APD, she has received the James M. Horton compassionate care award twice as well as a Wake Forest University School of Medicine Excellence in Medical Student Teaching Faculty Award. Her clinical interest includes resident and medical student education, mentoring and coaching, hospital medicine, impostor syndrome, well-being topics and fostering compassion in medicine. When not in the hospital she enjoys traveling, food, wine, art, her two dogs, and spending time with her family. |

Dr. Tori Rollins is one of our Associate Program Directors. She was born and raised in Charlotte. She went to Vanderbilt for undergraduate, graduating summa cum laude with honors in neuroscience. She then went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honor Society and graduated with honors. She completed internal medicine residency here at Carolinas Medical Center, and served as Chief Resident. She then completed an endocrinology fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also completed the UNC School of Medicine Teaching Scholars Program. She joined our faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2017 and became an Associate Program Director in 2022. She practices endocrinology, with an oncology-focused practice at Levine Cancer Institute, as well as a general endocrinology clinic in the Southpark area. She has a special interest in pituitary tumors, thyroid cancer, and endocrine complications in cancer survivors. Dr. Rollins is the director of Internal Medicine Grand Rounds, director of our residency’s Quality Improvement curriculum, and leads our outpatient endocrinology education. Outside of work, she can be found taking a dance class, SCUBA diving, reading mysteries, or doing yoga. |

Khyandra Murrain is the Residency Coordinator II for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Carolinas Medical Center. Khyandra was raised in the Charlotte area and is a graduate of Elon University. She has a background in higher education, previously working for The College Advising Corps and Central Piedmont Community College. Khyandra joined the Internal Medicine Residency Program in August 2023. While she’s not busy co-hosting the Your Advisors Will See You Now Podcast, Khyandra enjoys cooking, discovering new restaurants and tennis. |

Amiris Constantine is the Residency Coordinator I for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is dedicated to serving and offering support wherever needed. As an Air Force veteran with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and a Minor in Business she brings a unique perspective. In her free time Amiris loves creating art and photography. She states, "I believe self-expression is key to connecting with both ourselves and the world around us." |
